Mitakuye Oyasin . . . Thus we come into
relationships to mirror and reflect one another. We are tools for
each other's growth; the more we can truly know this, the faster is our
movement. There is no need for judgment of a particular relationship as
right or wrong. Each relationship is merely the mirror we need at a
particular time for our Highest Good.

Singing the world debut of Randy
Sparks' new song "Just Americans," with sister and New
Christy Minstrels' vocalist Becky Jo Benson - Minstrels recorded it later for PBS show
"This Land is Your Land" live on stage with Woody Guthrie -
which was first aired on national TV December 2002. Becky tours year round
with Randy Sparks' New Christy Minstrels (You can find their tour
schedule at

At
this rare reunion concert in APRIL 2002 - Bunny's out of state Fans came
all the way from Colorado and South Dakota to the remote Wyoming
prairie to hear the sisters on stage together once again for
this intimate performance, where their multiple and diverse talents
music styles harmonized at the Newcastle Country Club.
A GREAT time! |
 |
|
 |
The
sisters separate music travels with festivals and concerts always
seem to put these two on opposite sides of the continent as well as
at different ends of the FOLK genre .
Becky's music style is CLASSIC Folk - Traditional, while Bunny's
self-fashioned original Folk-Alter-Native style
has taken Bunny
on her own unique solo music journey.! |

CONCERT - Martin Square, Watertown, SD

After this cultural concert
of Bunny' original Lakota-inflected songs, ending with "White Buffalo Peace Song"
sing-along, the majority of the audience followed Bunny, joined by her
opening act, to a change of dress and music style - to a local brew pub for
a contemporary rollicking - almost all night jam session of
spontaneous dearly remembered songs (from Stevie Nix to Willie
Nelson with some jazz, old country and blue grass tunes, and some pop 50's and
rock in roll tossed in for good measure). This was certainly a
multi-cultural experience and what FUN!!!

White Eagle Seventh Generation Multi-Cultural Pow Wow,
August, 2002 Des Moines
14 tribes
represented at this Pow Wow, to which Bunny performed at camp under a full moon her "Moon"
song
and
just before closing ceremony, her solo
"NOW is the time"
drum song in the circle,
concluding with her "White Buffalo
Peace Song"

cultural presentation - two days of many school classes from all around
the area who came to visit and learn about the White Buffalo Calf Woman,
The story of the Three Sisters (corn, beans and squash) and share in

was their favorite open house museum presentation that day right after
the homemade ice cream sampling station).

A note about
Native American flutes, music, and story telling:
Just as a "French
horn" is a particular type of musical instrument, "Native American
flute" refers to a particular type of musical instrument and "Native
American Storytelling" does not imply that it was presented by an
enrolled member of a Federally-recognized tribal member. A
reviewer with the Rapid City Journal recently dubbed Bunny's music as
"Lakota-inflective Folk". This aptly describes the type and
subject matter of the original music she shares, with the intent to build bridges
among races of all people, Red, Yellow, White and Black, and educate, show honor and respect for
human BE-ings, Lakota and
ALL other earth-nurturing, Native American and indigenous life-ways, perspectives and cultures.

 |
Although Bunny has a rich mix of Native American ancestry, has learned from,
shared and associated with many well respected
"Federally-recognized" Native American tribes, tribal elders,
chiefs, and medicine people, she has well researched the
stories and teachings she shares with great conviction while she plays Native American flutes in music that is
enjoyed and endorsed by many prominent card carrying Native Americans, Bunny
Sings Wolf's music does NOT claim to be "Native American made" as
is now specified by the U.S. Government. IF it is your
desire to listen only to music made by an enrolled
member of a "federally-recognized" "Native American", you may
find them through a web search.
Please Click HERE
for thorough and very interesting coverage of this subject, as well
as present laws on freedom of religion for Native Americans - note
also the section "You Don't Look Indian" on Page 11 |

Most asked question:
"How
can I get a copy of Bunny's latest new songs that I heard at her
concerts?"
Most of Bunny's ORIGINAL
SONGS (upward of 320 at last count) have
"arrived" usually at 3:00 a.m., in the form of dreams
since Bunny has been living at home in the Black
Hills. Waking her from deep sleep - playing in her
head - complete with words and music, she records them, to learn and
share later. In honoring this unique music gift, Bunny feels a solemn responsibility to the Creator
to use her voice and carry these songs to as many people as possible.
Lyrics of some of these songs, yet unreleased on CD, may be found on
