Return to the organic world

Native
Flute, drum, gentle finger-picking acoustic Folk guitar and
Bunny's memorable voice singing lyrics that resonate from the heart of
the sacred Black Hills, to
positively relate ancient indigenous perspectives critical for our
lives, our planet, and our future!
The deeply fearful are driven to righteousness, as we know, and
they are the most fearsome fools we have."
quote from book The Next
Rodeo by William Kittridge
"Courage looks you straight in the eye. The people who told me
it was stern were not lying; they just forgot to mention that it was
kind." J. Gendler
Our children are living
messages we send to a time and a place we may never see, a song for
the future from you and me. Will they carry the note? Do they
know the key? Bunny Sings Wolf
"Never underestimate the value of what
you are doing"
"Many who used to speak of the age of purification as a time of
complete destruction now recognize it as a time of transformation,
when the thoughts, words, and acts of human beings can shape
outcomes that will affect this planet far into the future. Earth
need not suffer; people need not suffer. We must be willing to
take responsibility and to keep vortices of light moving through our
group meditation and individual practice...we are turning this dream
to peace..." Voices of our Ancestors, Ywahoo
Since when did just being a regular person doing your best, sharing
your talents and abilities, or listening to your own higher self
become less meritable?
"So, perhaps our task in this
shaky, fast-changing, bewildering world
in which we live is to make music, at first with all that we have,
and then when that is no longer possible, to make music with what
we
have left,"
Jack Riemer
of the Houston Chronicle.

NOW is the time for
celebration, transformation, meditation and for each to walk in
light, as caretakers of the earth, sharing our own good words & prayers
in ways of peace, balance and harmony.
This is not a time to just speak them, but WALK - LIVE - SING them in a loving new song, in childlike forgiveness. compassion,
with tenderness and wholeness -
and like a rare new born
white buffalo calf
send the sound and walk
the dance to manifest buffalo abundance for ourselves, each other, in
mutual respect and caring, for all our relations!

"On this Day: Stand
up for a principle. Express your gratitude. Overcome an
old fear. Take two minutes to appreciate the beauty of nature.
Tell someone you love them. Tell them again and again."
Earth Changes
We are at a time of vibrating,
resonating (like music), some are still learning to understand and
resonate at this level but they fluctuate often back and forth and
this causes great disturbance and stress. The true resonance moves
at a more subtle natural harmonious level with Mother Earth
energies (the old way of being truly human be-ings). This is why
many don't "hear" the music or understand the notes I send. Most
of humanity is resonating (and thus "walking" their path and life)
at a much louder but weaker (not life nurturing) - and more
chaotic level which may not sustain them through the coming earth
changes.
Earth life energies are weak
everywhere (at least on the surface) - noise, chemical, thought,
vibrational (cell phones, computers, towers, power grids) -
pollution everywhere suppresses the natural life force energies,
skewing even the birds' and whales sense of polarity and
connection with the magnetic poles. Thus many of our relatives in
the natural world have suffered at mans' hands, to almost
extinction and/or exhaustion within their own healing ways of
trying to adapt and adapt and adapt to the stresses put upon all
natural energy and ecosystems...it is dis-ease. But
the rumblings of renewal are deep and broad, held within the
waters and winds of change, and buried deep in the heart of our
Mother is the fire of transformation and above the star nations
look on - as far above, so deep below.... All life pauses now
before the onslaught - it's not "nice" to fool Mother Nature - as
the old TV commercial intuitively pronounced with a lightning bolt
flash for emphasis! Life energies will swell from far below and
from high above and those caught in the middle not in harmony with
that resonance will be like lifeless sand swirling in the
tempest wind...
We all have a part and a place in this
- I await to see where and how each of us will appear, stand, and
share - and timing is everything.-

"Responsibility educates."
Wendell
Phillips
"Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the
dawn, Hundreds of bees in the purple clover, Hundreds of butterflies
on the lawn, But only one mother the wide world over."
George Cooper
"...the Earth, the umbilicus
of our thought interweaving the dream that we are sharing. We
are turning this dream to peace. We are remembering the sacred
medicine and we are keeping the sacred prophecies to clarify and
purify, to see ourselves in harmony. Many roads are open as
one steps upon the way. All roads lead home. Just be careful
when you walk, be aware, when you step onto a certain turn in the
road, that it will take you to its conclusion until there is another
opportunity to change direction." Voices of our Ancestors, Ywahoo
Now is the time to
LIVE in complete honesty, to move past the worship of
the mind, intellect, materialism, manipulative philosophies,
religious, political, social, racial and cultural cliques that
harbor the illusions that separate us from ourselves and each other,
to once again recognize wholeness by embracing and honoring the
treasures of the heart, a good Mothers' love,
balance,, harmony, abundance, peace, wisdom, and the beauty and simplicity of the truly feminine
and all that nurtures the sacred gift of life."
Mitakuye
Oyasin
Many of Bunny's songs highlight this theme (Meetahk-oooyeah
Oye-yah-see)
These Lakota (Sioux ) words I use
respectfully, as a wish, and as a prayer. My understanding
of the translation in simple words to English is:
"we are all
related - all my relations"
Yet these words mean so much more! The meanings of these words are
in my songs, and hopefully in my life, yet here in written words I will attempt to describe my
feelings about this further.
I feel it is important to awaken to
this indigenous and holistic perspective in these
critical times, and to make a conscious, and individual commitment to
the truth, understanding, and daily practice of these
words for we are all connected in the web of life.
Living in LOVE instead of fear, in wisdom and
harmony instead of discord,
in our wise cultivation of peace within ourselves, in relationships with
each other, the land, all living and growing things that fly, that
crawl, that swim, that hop, that walk, all natural resources, the earth,
rocks, air and sky, in thoughtful and respectful life activities which represent the highest and wisest use of our life
force (energies).
Since we ARE ALL in this - on this planet - in this LIFE -
together
NOW is the TIME for us to think, speak, sing and share these words,
that show a workable way of living in peace
NOW is the TIME
to consciously show friendship, relationship,
forgiveness, camaraderie, acceptance (a
kind, loving, accepting and nurturing relationship, similar to what we
would expect from a beloved grandmother toward her grandchild.)
NOW is the TIME To LIVE the prayer of Mitakuye Oyasin - that all the
parts may honor
the whole, and our every thought and action may benefit, nurture and honor life
instead of pollute, consume and destroy it. By the way we
individually choose to
use our energies toward right action (this gift of manifesting our life energies may be called "using our Sacred"
or how we "walk in a Sacred manner")
can be a great benefit to the whole and finally knowing that our
positive thoughts and good actions DO make a profound difference, we are
blessed with profound inner peace and joy.
The natural "side effects"
of this practice is -
FREEDOM for all - as we each
brightly and happily shine in our individual talents, abilities, and
contributions -
a practical and rewarding way of life!
And so in saying Mitakuye
Oyasin at the end of my correspondence or at the end of a song, aty
the conclusion of my concert performances, I hope to show
appreciation for and recognition of the diversity of all, yet
remember our one-ness
and encourage awareness of the response-ability
that comes with the BEST use of our personal
talents, abilities, freedoms, in goodness - in beauty.
With these words comes a wish, a prayer, that thus we may all
WALK IN BEAUTY.
Through the process of sharing my gifts of music I
find myself constantly being touched in that place of awareness which always works as a
reminder that the universe is friendly, and the natural world is trustworthy,
and goodness, beauty ways,
peaceful ways, ways of love, and life always win - eventually.
It is my prayer to share that awareness,
so each
may
GROW to KNOW and SHOW see, feel and be,
the honorable and authentic human-beings we
are capable of BE-ing, while finding the fulfillment and peace in practice
that
this creates in unity with ALL of the whole of creation, living
in Balance, Harmony, Abundance, Peace, in accord with these natural and most efficient principles,
wisely, underlying and built, and resonating in everything!
The
truth and power of love is everywhere!
By sending my voice in song it is my hope to magnify that truth,
that
vision, and encourage you to spread the wings of your heart and
find and follow your purpose,
your highest and most noble dream, your most lofty goal,
to the
BEST
BENEFIT
of
YOURSELF
and
the
WHOLE (all our relations in all the four directions)
for Every dream comes
with wings!
I thank you for your interest in the music that I send from the
HEART
of the sacred Black Hills, because we are, after all , related... Mitakuye Oyasin

as a "French horn" is a particular type of musical instrument,
"Native American flute" refers to a particular type/style of musical
instrument. Also the style of storytelling dubbed "Native
American Storytelling" does not guarantee presentation by an
enrolled member of a Federally-recognized tribal member.
A reviewer with the Rapid City Journal dubbed Bunny's music as
"Lakota-inflective Folk" which aptly describes the type
and subject matter of the original music that has come to her
in dreams which she shares often with flute music (which also came
in dreams along with the lyrics and music of her songs). Her
music comes to build bridges among races of all people, Red, Yellow,
White and Black, and educate, show honor and respect for human BE-ings,
Lakota and ALL other earth-nurturing, Native American and/or
indigenous or other life honoring ways, perspectives and
cultures.
Although Bunny has a rich mix of first nations ancestry, continues
to learn from, shares with and associates with many well respected
"Federally-recognized" Native American Indian tribal elders,
chiefs, and medicine people, and she has researched the
stories and teachings that stem from cultural perspectives that she
may share in workshops or performances, please know that the
music and the original songs she shares (and the stories and
teachings that come with them) have come to her in dreams.
While she plays Native American flutes in music that is enjoyed and
endorsed by many prominent U.S. federally issued card carrying Native Americans,
Bunny Sings Wolf's music does NOT claim to be "Native American made" as is now specified by the U.S. Government.
IF it is your
desire to listen only to music made by a "federally-recognized" IRA
enrolled "Native American" musician, you may
find them through a web search.

Most asked question:
"How
can I get a copy of Bunny's latest new songs that I heard at her
concerts?"
Most of Bunny's ORIGINAL
SONGS (upward of 450 at last count) have
"arrived" usually at 3:00 a.m., in the form of dreams
since Bunny has been living at home in the Black
Hills. Waking her from deep sleep - playing in her
head - complete with words and music, she records them, to learn and
share later. In honoring this unique music gift, Bunny feels a solemn responsibility to the Creator
to use her voice and carry these songs to as many people as possible.
Lyrics of some of these songs, yet unreleased on CD, may be found on

We hope you will
share Bunny's web site of "heart healing" music with your
friends and include Bunny's CD's in your library of songs that comfort and nurture
your animal spirit.
How can music be "heart healing"?
Listening from the
heart. The drum (the heartbeat of mother earth and all it's breathing
creatures), the human voice (which can mimic wild
animal sounds as well as express with clarity the deepest yearnings
of the human soul), the hand carved wooden flute (with a tone and a softness, yes, a "personality"
all it's own)... these along with heart healing lyrics inspired from
the energy and natural beauty of the ancient Black Hills, long thought
by native peoples as the heart of the world (seen from a satellite the
Black Hills actually resemble a beating heart) - all are artfully employed
in the simple and soulful music of Bunny Sings Wolf.
Her CD "Sacred
Ground" draws the modern listener into these natural sounds
gradually, as the multi-layered meanings in the lyrics begin to effect
ancestral remembrances. While the ancient drum beats gently slow the
heart rate, the nature inspired subject matter takes you on a refreshing
walk through majestic forests and prairie grasslands where once large
Buffalo and Elk grazed peacefully.
Since it is the rocks
and trees that inspire this peaceful music, Paha-Sapa, the Lakota word
for "Black Hills" is given a "rock concert"
"poluza"
ending for a song that ends with the ancient sounds of Lakota "vocables"
and rattles taking one from the present ever deeper into the prayerful
and primal.
In this music it is
hoped that the thoughtful listener can find their own "Sacred Ground"
- a deeper self-knowing - the thing that gives each of us a solid foundation
and meaning in life.
This is how "heart
healing music" works.
"Buffalo
Tales" takes one a few steps farther back. From the modern
misconception that all things must be "controlled" by technology
- comes the true story of a tourist with a camera confronted by a large
wild buffalo, reminding us that we are fragile human beings after-all,
and true success and survival depends on good relationships.
All of the songs on
this, Bunny's second album, are tuned to the hand carved flute, no digital
sounds are used - so the notes are "different" from all those
modern radio songs tuned to the standard electronic tuning fork.
To the discerning
thoughtful listener, this is true Earth music that rides on energies
that may naturally heal a heart, a nation, a world. Listening From the
HEART - how natural sounds can HEAL...
Interesting that the
period of time 1994-2004 (the time the United Nations declared as the
"International Decade of the World's Indigenous Peoples")
has contained some of the greatest changes in world history, creating
"dis-ease" in the hearts of mankind by shaking the world's
"ritual" belief systems - religious, political, and economic
- down to the core.
It's been said that
modern society's loss of ritual can cause psychic fragmentation - literally,
the state of being disconnected from our deeper selves. The result is
a sort of soul starvation - a deep, non-specific hunger that we've tried
desperately (and unsuccessfully) to feed with food, alcohol, sex, shopping,
constant "noise", gambling, drugs, work. "When a man's
knowledge is not in order, the more he has the greater will be his confusion"
(a quote from Sugar Blues). Many healers believe that this psychic fragmentation
is at the root of stress, and it's manifestation in many physically
related "dis-eases."
How do we tap back
into the subconscious healing that is naturally built into our psyche?
Indigenous cultures with their natural sense of Earth wisdom and awareness
of the sacred in all things, seem always to have understood that human
beings are coded for ritual - a childlike simplicity in which the unconscious
mind speaks to the conscious mind. This is place where
song comes from. In our fast paced lives most of us don't even
know how to tune back to the health of the unconscious, uncluttered
mind, let alone value the simple sacredness of a song.
Perhaps
listening to earthy, simple and gentle music that yet honors and employs
natural tones from the indigenous - can reawaken our unconscious mind,
and like dreams - put our knowledge back in order. Certainly here
we invite you to listen from the heart, and explore
for yourself the healing sounds of Bunny Sings Wolf.
